VOC CAUSES.png

What is VOC? Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are common chemical contaminants found in office and home environments and are a source of odors. VOCs are organic (containing carbon) chemicals that can easily evaporate into the air. Many products found in the home or office environment may have the potential to release VOCs.

Quite frankly, VOCs can be almost anything that off gasses from that new car smell, fresh paint, and new building materials are some of the common things we have received calls about. You ever hear of sick building syndrome? A buildup of harmful VOCs in the home can result in health related problems. Reducing VOCs can be an important immediate and long-term preventative healthcare measure.

At Biosweep of West Houston/Austin we have treated a variety of VOCs for clients. They include…

  • Fresh paint, oil-based paints

  • Sealants used for stained concrete

  • Renovation done to a home where the combination of building materials was overwhelming

  • New carpet

These are some of the VOC types of odors we have eliminated for our clients.
